Meanwhile, Czach describes the selection standard of films in the Film festival are not only aesthetics, film histories, but also taste of programmers. The latter play more important role than the former does. Moreover, critics play a essential role of the film if will be a canon. In the same time, the films selected or gotten a award in large scale of film festival will affect box office indirectly. About my research: As to a gender-focused film festival, the taste of programmers is determinant during selecting films. In addition, the film topic, as well as the content and style of film approached avant-garde gender theme are selected point. Critics play advanced promotion of films. Audiences choose films they would like to see through critics recommendation, while these recommendation sometimes are the way of selling. Furthermore, the gender-focused film festival don’t play the aid a film’s entry to the canon or affect box office gold indirectly, especially commercial approach of the film, even sometimes cause the bad influence since it stresses “gender themes’ too much, it means that the film is serious and no other selling point. Otherwise, as to the independent director’s work, it is good for their distribution and looking for grant for next film.
